Location: A501
Teacher: Bill Hull
Subject: Sponsor/Discipleship
Description: Will Christ’s disciples save the world? No, not now, not under the current conditions. Bill Hull explores why the church continues to try and reach the world without making disciples. Discipleship is not an essential part of the Church in the United States today. Rather than make disciples, the Church has decided to do something else. When we lose discipleship, we lose the opportunity to teach people deeply. The end result of discipleship is a deeper and more revolutionary change than mere conformity. It is much harder than getting people to externally conform. Revolution requires more than a series of external behaviors; the change must take hold of the inside. This doesn’t happen automatically. Real change is supernatural; it requires intentionality, and is anything but passive. Nor is it quick and easy. If it were, then a commitment to discipleship and spiritual formation would be commonplace.

In this session we will learn how to get the organizational structure (staff and laity) and operational systems (finances, personnel, facilities, computers, etc.) of the church better organized, properly documented and adequately protected against risks, so that the various works of ministry can be performed in a more “decent and orderly” manner.
