We kicked off the Pre-Conference last year in an attempt to give you one more option/outlet to help you in your ministry. Last year we had Dr. Brunson & Dr. Bryant walk through the “Guidebook for Pastors” and really just offer almost a century of combined ministerial wisdom. Dr. Swanberg followed shortly after with a plea for pastors to lead men as he walked through his new book that he gave all attendees “The Man Code.” We closed with Dr. Emir Caner sharing the apologetics of Elijah which was one of the best sessions we have ever had at the conference. It truly was a blessing for those who were there and provided Q&A time so that topics could be grasped even further.
Building upon a great idea we decided that it would even better if every year we let a different seminary host the Pre-Conference as a way for them to share what God is doing on their campus, allow us to join in the discussions taking place on campus, and to provide either a connection to a seminary that you might have never thought of before or as an alumni allow you to reconnect. This year we are proud to have Southeastern Seminary hosting our first ever seminary led pre-conference.
The Southeastern Seminary Pre-Conference will start with Dr. Bruce Ashford whom is the Headrick Chair of World Missions, Associate Professor of Philosophy and Intercultural Studies, and the Dean of the College. Dr. Ashford will speak on Missions and Missiology. Next will be Dr. Ken Keathley who is the Dean of Graduate Studies and a Professor of Theology. He will speak on "Romans 9: The Soul Winner’s Burden". Last but certainly not least will be Dr. Alvin Reid whom is the Bailey Smith Chair of Evangelism and a Professor of Evangelism for the seminary. He will be speaking on He will be speaking on the topic of his newest book "The Convergent Church".
These seminars will literally be refresher courses for you in your ministry, almost like heading back to seminary for the day! Hopefully they will help you in areas you might be weak and encouragement for your walk.
